BBC ‘Children Talking’ (MFP / UK / 1968 / VG+/Ex+) £8 £4
( Excerpts of kids saying whatever comes to mind from the famous BBC TV series which the Beeb update every 7 years…so, so funny…expecially the one where the interviewer asks the children ‘where do babies come from?’… )

Roy Budd ‘Pick Yourself Up!! This Is Roy Budd’ (Pye / UK / 1967 / VG+/VG) £10 £5
( Roy’s debut…with the classic dodgy bossa ‘Girl From Southend On Sea’ – sleeve is good but wax slightly marked / crackly so half-priced…also has ‘Bossa Nova USA’ and ‘On Green Dolphin Street’… )

Ian Green ‘Revelation’ (CBS / UK / 1969 / VG+/M-) £15 £8
( They call this guy the ‘UK David Axelrod’ in some quarters, I wouldn’t go quite as far as that but it’s a bloody good/interesting listen LP – with an amazing supporting cast – Rosetta Hightower, Madelaine Bell etc etc – with ‘Revelation’ , ‘Epitaph For A Good Day’…lovely copy….immaculate wax, minor sleeve wear…sorry – no YT for this LP yet… )
Johnny Harris ‘All To Bring You Morning’ (UK / WB / 1973 / Ex+/M-) £15 £8
( Follow-up release to Johnny’s ace ‘Movements’ LP but this one ‘digs in’ a lot deeper…the title track is an incredibly rich and complex piece of music which clocks in @ around 14:00 mins long + we also get other good covers stuff like ‘Norweigan Wood’ etc but the main point is ‘All To Bring You Morning’ which has huge sample-source potential and I could easily hear/see somebody with a bit of vision like DJ Shadow digging right into this – recommended…I’ve actually not had/seen one of these in years but I seem still able to get (the more expensive) ‘Movements’ LP in fairly regularly…? )

Cleo Laine ‘Portrait’ (Philips / UK / 1971 / Ex+/M-) £12 £6
( Unplayed copy of this tasty Lp – Johnny Dankworth-produced with: ‘On A Clear Day’ (Peddlers) , ‘Feeling Good’ (Lena Horne) , ‘Ridin’ High’ (Margie Joseph) but THE big tune on here is ‘Night Owl’ which has had Northern Soul spins and is actually VERY good, great fuzz guitar…the bomb… )

Judy McKenzie ‘Peace and Love and Freedom’ (Key / UK / 1971 / Ex/VG+) £15 £8
( Few scuffs here and there and a slightly ‘grubby’ sleeve – great, great Xian / Psyche / Folk from this talented singer-songwriter…many nice tracks here but ‘Isiah Fifty-Five’ stood out – really, really good listen… )

The Mystic Moods ‘Erogenous’ (Mint / UK / 1976 / Ex/Ex+) £25 £15
( Sleeve graded Ex only cos it has a cut corner (unusual for a UK LP?) but other than that, it’s 100% Ex+ and the wax is close to pristine….these Mystic Moods UK LPs are very tough to find, I used to know a guy who collected em (I think there are 3 or 4) and it took him years and years to get the full set…some of the big tracks on here include ‘Midnight Snack , ‘Honey Trippin’ and ‘Down Easy’ – such great LPs with ‘risque’ sleeves too…noice… )

The Peddlers ‘Three In A Cell’ (CBS / UK / 1968 / Ex/Ex+) £12 £6
( Large (UK-only) loop / sample source on ‘On A Clear Day’ – we also get their grooving version of ‘Comin Home Baby’ – nice price…I also have a VG+/VG+ copy for £4 )

Maxwell Plumm ‘We Can Work It Out’ (Raven / UK / 1975 / Ex+/M-) £15 £8

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=buj-DOfynZ4
Asha Puthli ‘The Devil Is Loose’ (CBS / UK / 1976 / M-/M-) £25 £15

Lloyd Ryan ‘Pulse Of Time – Part 1: Rock Drumming’ (DVK (gatefold) / UK / 1977 / VG+/M-) £20 £10
( Unplayed copy of this heavy breaks and beats set…still has the ‘drum tuition’ booklet intact too – Skins master Ryan puts us thru our paces again on cuts like ’2001′ , ‘McArthur Park’ , ‘Hey Jude’ etc as he guides us thru the ‘Rock Drumming’ handbook…al breaks, all ways…immaculate copy… )

John Schroeder ‘The Dolly Catcher’ (Pye / UK / 1967 / Ex/Ex+) £40 £25
( THE best copy of this marvellous LP I’ve EVER had… (Yet) another ace Johnny Schroeder LP this List and this one’s up there amongst his best work for me – no doubt!! Whaddya get? ‘Explosive Corrosive Joseph’ (Breaks!) , ‘The Dolly Catcher’ , ‘She Ran The Other Way’ etc etc – has had VERY few plays… )

The Senate ‘Sock It To You One More Time’ (UA / UK / 1967 / VG+/Ex+) £30 £15
( Rare one…! My first-ever copy – great R&B / Beat LP with some stunning cover versions on like ‘How Sweet It Is’ , ‘Sock It To Em J.B.’ , ‘Girls Are Out To Get Ya’ etc etc but THE biggie is the huge NS dancer ‘Can’t Stop’ which is a cover of the Ben E. King original…rare LP, believe me… )

Doc Severinsen ‘Fever!’ (ABC (gatefold) / USA / 1960s / VG+/M-) £10 £5
( With the wikkid version of ‘The Sidewinder’ on here and the laid back take on the ‘Fever’ title track…my first-ever copy…lovely condition…. )
